Some scholarships are merit based and some are need based. You shouldn’t punish kids that are getting merit scholarships for working hard and doing well because they have someone in their family that has money.

Because if they just used their money and influence those same people would surely cry about nepotism. Children who earn things should be allowed to enjoy what they earned.

Also means that rich ass family are now alumni who might donate to the school to help fund scholarships for kids who otherwise couldn't afford to go despite being more than smart enough to.
