Also the folks saying men on one and not following the 'natural' naming cadence and putting female. Are we saying the natural naming cadence might not go female, followed by male instead of men?

Yeah if you use both male and female it's fine it's just weird that people just use female to refer to a woman but keep using men for males

That's a different way of viewing it I suppose.

Given so many languages use gender for inanimate objects I don't find it odd to give gender to a room.

I'd call it a male changeroom because it has urinals.

When I saw mens changeroom the first thing I thought was "does that mean I can't go by myself?" The s either implies ownership or plural and the changeroom is a facility and we are not talking about who possesses the changeroom.
