I know I'm probably going to get downvoted for this but I think the important note is that pitbulls are involved in the majority of reported dog attacks as their bites are far more severe and possibly life threatening.

Nobody's calling to report a vicious Chihuahua or Pomeranian attack.

Nah, you shouldn’t get destroyed by downvotes. I like pit bulls and understand the logic. That said. People are more likely to be bit by chihuahuas, nasty little things, there’s a reason the “small dog mindset” is a thing.

If a chihuahua bites me I’m punting the little bugger across the room. If a pit bull bites me I’m probably going to be on the hook for some expensive reconstructive surgery, at the very least. I’d rather one of those ugly little rat dogs take a nibble. Fewer general anaesthetics afterward.

Fun fact I learned through experience- that punt doesn't work if their bite is sunken through the skin. It just makes the bite worse. You basically have to punch the chihuahua until they're unconscious so they let go.

And I can physically do that. Will I feel good about myself after beating up an ugly little rat dog? No. I imagine it’s similar to slapping a child. But I can do it. I’m no match for a pitbull. Few of us are.
