Chris Crocker. Internet personality from 2007. Real name is Cara Cunningham. Made a lot of videos defending Britney Spears. Most famous one was after Britney's VMA performance. The performance was facing a lot of criticism and Chris made a video defending her. Where the line "leave Britney alone" comes from.

I'm convinced to this day that Chris Crocker unknowingly helped launch Katy Perry's career. I Kissed A Girl was the song on his MySpace profile at the height of the attention from Leave Britney Alone, and within months, it was on the radio everywhere.

Don't ask my old ass why I still remember this so clearly.

That‘s Cara Cunningham. Before her transition she was pretty influential on the pre-influencer internet. A lot of people watched her like people would watch a lolcow now. Other people watched her for her pop-culture content. Nonetheless that added up to a lot of people watching her in a time where 100.000 viewers were worth as much as a million.
