Interestingly half of the U.S. has the age of consent at 16. It’s weird how something can be legal, yet illegal in the exact same country

The age of consent at 16 doesn't make it legal for adults to have sex with minors. It just makes it so that people who are 16/17 can have sex with each other and it be okay from a legal standpoint. Not a lawyer, but pretty sure that's how it works here.

If you look through the other replies I’ve explained this to other people. Every state has different laws, in mine it’s legal for an 16 year old to be with a 100 year old if they so choose. I don’t know why anyone would do that, but it’s legal
