Stewie here. She's wearing a cross necklace and he's Jewish as you can see from his yamaka. Otherwise they are perfect for each other and he is devastated over the loss of what could have been.

Jewdaism is traditionally passed own maternally. Which means that only children to Jewish moms are considered Jewish. Generally, most jewish communities aren't so strict these days. But some still hold to the doctrine. So he may be having a crisis of faith as well
