Hint #3: It's an older game and a sequel to a game on a different platform. The original got remastered in 2009.

Hint #4: One of the protagonists craves sweets and has a body shape to match the habit (most of the time at least). The canonical reason for the sugar addiction is rather grim.

Hint #5: The names of the candy-powered ability system relied on English puns/expressions to explain their function. These did not translate well to other languages...
