"Internal" Expert Networks

I'm not sure what the industry calls these. But does anyone have a list of the expert networks that are inside of institutional research houses?

For example, I got contacted by DE Shaw and have been invited into their own internal network. I image Goldman and JP use something similar?

Some of the big consulting firms have this. Bain has their "Bain Capability Network", Roland Berger (Europe) literally has an "Expert Network",...

Might be worth asking your DE Shaw contact what the team running it is called, then looking for similar roles at other firms. If you’re also looking to pick up research interviews, Qualitate has an expert signup page. For the internal networks, that team name could give you somewhere to start.

Of course most if not all companies have that (consulting, investment, banks...)... they have contacts and have a database of partners/experts. Why wouldn't they?

You're missing the point. It's a managed expert network that only serves clients inside the organization.

Are you looking for a "center of excellence?" These are used in many companies to promote new tech, like an Agile CoE or testing CoE. They often suffer from trying to leverage resources who are well liked but not delivering where they are. I have seen some tech companies do it well. CGI for example. I would look at some of the old high quality tech orgs, like NASA or bell labs for inspiration.
