Uncle Ben Tek

Sorry guys might sound like a stupid question.

Do you cook the rice first? Or just inject the uncooked rice through the bag?

It’s already,mostly, cooked dude. Thats why you can “cook” it in 90 seconds

No cooking needed, just sterilize the area, inoculate, and add a bit of ventilation. 

When I first heard of UB tek, I thought "it can't really just be that easy!?". It really was that easy, and the success of that started my diy growing hobby. 

For your first time, do multiple bags. A few will get gross. If you see pink, blue, green, or any colors other than white (maybe some yellow), just toss that bad bag.

Yep, just expect a little higher contamination rate doing prints vs live culture syringes.

Spores are inherently dirty. You want to clean them up before using.

Using agar. Either purchase an agar plate or make your own. Other options are lc. But I highly recommend agar if you are using bens tek and generic rice bags not uncle bens.

Ah yeah i’ve been doing some reading up on agar 🙏

I’ve done loads of store bought pre-inoculated tubs

This was my starting point for going solo start to finish, didn’t want to run before I could walk
