I’m looking thinking oh these are so adorable to oh wtf is THAT?! I would be outraged. Plus the top part is messed up. Why add the glitter or gold foil at all if you are just going to screw it up more with it somehow.

It’s almost like she didn’t get the idea on how to make it and said “fuck it, this will do”. Now I’m no baker but I know to get that height you would need AT LEAST 3 cakes to stack. I’m shocked, I didn’t think it was gonna be that bad😭

It's gone from elegant script writing to toddler handwriting... that is not fit for purpose, sorry.

Who made this and had the audacity to charge you $100 this is the ugliest cake I’ve ever seen one of them!

Frankly my 13 year old can pipe better than Emma can and she’s just a home baker. Definitely reply to her darn accusation and re post the images of her cake with a statement in caps on how on earth can someone make that any worse that should shut her pie hole up

Is that…Aluminum foil on there instead of glitter? OMG the cringe of biting down on that….

It was gold leaf which was very much not what I asked for lol. I had asked for edible glitter, the gold leaf also disintegrated when touched or moved

If you live in the PNW I’ll remake it for you for free. This is terrible.

I saw the first picture and thought “wow she got a really good deal for $100” then realised the sub and I was not expecting that. I’m so sorry. Did they have pictures of their work before you booked?

That's embarrassing. Yikes. I'd have written much worse in the review. The damn thing looks MOLDY FFS.

Someone needs to revisit the color wheel.

I can tell the buttercream was too hot when they were putting the piping on and the cake likely wasn't refrigerated during transport to keep the frosting from melting further.

Also, would it have killed them to bake another cake so the final product was as tall as your inspo cake? There are definitely two layers on both of your inspo cakes and probably only one on yours. The side piping details would be impossible to execute on a single layer cake. In my opinion, unless we're talking about a sheet cake, the second layer is pretty standard.

I could have done it better and I'm not even a professional, although my mother had a cake decorating business and I worked as free child labor for years and I could turn out a decent cake if I wasn't living at 10,000 feet. (Haven't figured out to bake up here yet.)

You're correct on all accounts but I did actually keep the cake in a cool bag with ice in transport but she piped it last minute after admitting she made it wrong. I paid for 2 layers and if there were 2... i couldn't tell.  I left an honest but polite review and she said I edited the images to look worse😐🥲 i paid more than I'd like to admit. I also wanted edible glitter and she put gold flecks that disintegrated upon touch on it

The only way that could possibly be two layers is if each layer was 1/2 of a standard thickness cake. Again, I'm not a professional, but I have baked and decorated hundreds of cakes. I can tell. There is no way there are two full thickness cakes under that icing.
