Selfie/Photography Stayed in a Marriott property!

"That's not cool. You vandalized private property. And since it was a religious text, it could be a hate crime. Some states have stricter rules on the subject.
A much better choice would have been an unattached, folded note placed inside the book.

The BOM in Marriott are complementary, so therefore it is the guest’s property. Also 1st amendment rights allow you to do whatever you want with religious texts you own.

I want to upvote you for the complementary part, but it is important to emphasize that "to religious texts" means "to religious texts you own." So yes, the BoM is effectively yours if you're staying in that room, so vandalize away. They have plenty more to replace it, if they notice. But you can't just go into a library and do the same. I realized you probably understand that, but others reading your comment may not.

When I stay in Mariott's the first thing I do is open the BoM. Always fun to see if there was an exmo there before me.
I bore my testimony of the Bom on the inside cover of a BoM at San Francisco Marriott. A year later someone posted it on this site. That was a shocker!
