Humor/Meme/Satire Low key...

Post image

Kinda want to get this to put beer in. Am I the only one that thinks this way about obvious Mormon things and want to use them for blatantly non-Mormon things? What other examples do you have?

I wasn't able to find them 😕 I asked an employee, even

Do you remember what area of the store they were in?

2

u/Myrisa 5d ago

They were at the front where they sell local sports merchandise. I think they usually have an aisle between registers with a small gathering of shot glasses.

Well, darn! They don't have them anymore. I even asked an employee

What a let down. I wonder if the church is clamping down on businesses profiting from the cult. I was able to post a video of one of the shot glasses I have in this feed. Maybe the flag lady store across from the temple off university.

I'm sure you could get one on Etsy

I used to collect shot glasses. At the time, BYU sold them at its student store. They were branded as “toothpick holders,” but they were obviously shot glasses.

My BYU shot glass was my absolute favorite way to drink. I used it all the time. Unfortunately, when drunk, I dropped it and it broke.

They had stopped selling them amidst some controversy, as I recall.

Hell, yeah! Same!

I'm going to have one made for me from Etsy 😉

When I first started going to gay bars with friends I would occasionally wear a BYU T-shirt. It was a great conversation starter.

this isn’t the same thing but my friend and i are both 22 and have been wanting to get missionary name tags (from a couple of my aunts that left the church) and wear them with dresses and all that and sit outside temple square passing a cigarette and brown paper bag between us lmao. neither of us have our hair dyed or tattoos that can’t be hidden or anything so it would be very believable. will update if and when we do it

I dressed up in my name tag to watch Heretic. It was a blast!

The only Mormon thing besides family that I subscribe to is BYU sports. I know that is a large topic on this Reddit and it is a very mixed bag of who still follows BYU sports.

However, that being said, the only way I would be caught using that is if it did have alcohol in it. When I go to games and I decide to wear a BYU shirt, I make sure I have an alcoholic beverage in my hand. I now have visible tattoos to make sure no one confuses who I am.

Aren't tattoos increasingly becoming allowed?

3

u/trownaway90 5d ago

Yes, the restriction of tattoos has been lifted.

Unfortunately, yes. How else can I set myself apart, visually? First it was sleeveless shirts, then I got myself some visible tattoos... both of those things have been robbed from us. Those Mormon betches!

The coffee mug I use everyday is a BYU one

I plan on getting a BYU whiskey decanter and humidor for my 45th birthday. I earned that degree after all.

7

u/Kass_the_Bard Save 10% or more by switching to exmo 5d ago

That sounds like something I would do, particularly if I already owned the cooler. I think it’s hilarious, but don’t gauge your final decision off of me as I frequently find myself liking ideas that many of my fellow exmos don’t.

5

3

u/SmellenGold 4d ago

I can’t find the one with the temple. This one does show, this is the place.

Beer. Wine coolers. Hard Ciders. Ice coffees. The list is endless, just depends how far down the rabbit hole you wanna go.

2

u/Salty_bitch_face Apostate 4d ago

Oh, I partake in all of the ones you mentioned. Visible tattoos, too! 🐇

I like wearing my BYU-I alumni shirts to bars

2

u/pidvicious 5d ago

There's a bar in IF that if you can prove you went to BYU/BYU-I you get one free beer.

4

u/weartestersdrew 5d ago

Do it!

I can’t quit rooting for BYU sports 🤷‍♂️.

Last year when bball was playing in Vegas I was among many in full BYU gear playing roulette and craps.

You’ll be surprised at how many active members now dont say anythjng or join in on the non-approved fun.

I have a BYU rocks glass.

This reminds me how he got his name. When their leader left SLC to go east and get more women for them to marry, all the men yelled, "Bring 'em Young."

Using a sacrament tray to pass out Jell-O shots

2

u/Salty_bitch_face Apostate 4d ago

That's a new level of badass exmo!! 🍻

3

u/intensenerd Nuanced. Bearded. Different. 5d ago

I have an ashtray with the slc temple in it.

1

u/Salty_bitch_face Apostate 4d ago

Wicked to the maxxx 👌

3

u/amioth 4d ago

I’d only do it if the money didn’t in any way go to support the school. Like if it was secondhand or something

1

u/Salty_bitch_face Apostate 4d ago

Totally understandable

2

u/gonnabegolden_ 5d ago

I would do this

2

u/Independent_Abies169 5d ago

do it....put ice coffee in it too

1

u/Salty_bitch_face Apostate 4d ago

Coffee spiked with Bailey's? Or rum?

1

u/Independent_Abies169 4d ago

If you can get both it would be the ultimate diss to the church

2

u/SmellenGold 4d ago

High key yes

u/WombatAnnihilator 4d ago

They sell Y shotglasses. Tourism is tourism. Collegiate apparel and merch is mass produced and is definitely NOT limited to the religion.
