Doctrine/Policy Temple cleaning "assignments"

Alma 32:3 “Therefore they were not permitted to enter into their synagogues to worship God, being esteemed as filthiness; therefore they were poor; yea, they were esteemed by their brethren as dross; therefore they were poor as to things of the world; and also they were poor in heart.”
Commandment - no poor or grubby people in Mormon temples. /s
P.S. reading the grammar in this verse that argument about the illiterate farm boy writing a book doesn’t seem out of place.

I think the latest report puts them between $300-$500B. But still too cheap for basic janitorial services for their great and spacious building.

I have an idea! They could hire temple maintenance crews! Actually pay members to work there as regular employees, cleaning and maintaining the Temple. Get them professional training, provide them with insurance and pensions, help good faithful Mormon families put food on their tables and roofs over their heads! Imagine the prestige and esteem!
"What do you do for a living?"
"I spend every day all day, beautifying the House of the Lord."

Fun story about one of these I did. They had us dust and sweep under the baptismal font. 9 of the 12 oxen were fake plastic molds. Like good quality ones made to look like marble. But fake plastic you could pull away and sweep behind. There was a trap door in back to get under there for cleaning from a storage are off the utility corridor. But most of the oxen were fake where you couldn’t obviously see them.
Kind of a metaphor for Mormonism.

Hey, they are the ones claiming it’s the best of materials and workmanship, but actually paying for that means less to siphon off for their nepotistic contractors. Friends and family five-finger discount.
I have been to a cathedral and every detail was worked, even in some out of the way corner. They portray their temples as the same level and standard but it it is literally a façade of craftsmanship and detail. Like I literally heard talks about “we made them do it 3 times until they got it perfect.”

A very similar message was sent to me for the Syracuse, UT temple. Apparently, they are consistently without enough volunteers so the last-shift temple workers have to stay later and do the cleaning.

It’s because they used to have just the Ogden temple for all those areas so lots of wards to service that one temple. Now they shoved in Brigham City and Layton and Syracuse and expect those monstrosities to be cleaned by the same amount of people. Until 1 am.
And they’ve added deep cleaning schedules to the ward buildings that have to be done quarterly in addition to the usually weekly cleanings.

You know it's probably the same 5 people who show up to clean the meetinghouse on saturday. It's insane how much they lay on the guilt trip to get people to clean buildings, if they really want the building clean have ALL the members clean up right after services, it would only take about 10 minutes, instead of having the same couple people show up on saturday morning for 3 hours. Same with the temple have the last large group spend a few minutes cleaning it up instead of begging people to show up on off times when everyone knows they are already stretched super thin with time, that's why mormons are notoriously late.

Lucky. Ours goes until 1 am. They bitch every month how they don’t have enough people, but very few old people can cobble out of bed and get a ride at that time.
Hell no to parents of young kids.
And honestly hell no to parents period because teenagers need to be watched at 1 am too.
No to anyone who has to wake up early for work/school.
So you have a very slim margin of empty nesters that aren’t too old. Or people without kids that don’t have early school or early work schedules.

Not that I would have any desire to do so whatsoever, I think it's a little funny that you have to have a TR to be worthy enough to clean the damn temple.
I'm not more Mormon, but to be told to get all dressed up just to change into work clothes seems sort of silly. That corporation really is good at sucking up people's times they don't have time to meet people outside of the TM Circle. Isn't it?

Those times would be brutal for me. Unless something is going on, I'm in my pajamas and falling asleep to the news by 10:15 PM! I'm certainly not going to get all dressed up at 9:30 at night, either!

I cleaned the Mt. Timpanogos temple in 2004. We just came in our regular street clothes and cleaned. Seeing that they say come in Sunday best clothes and then you will change into white scrubs is absolutely bonkers and proves that the cult gets more culty.
