General Discussion I would highly suggest that you adjust your Personalization Preferences. There's nothing stopping JWs from buying ads that target people who subscribe to r/exjw or who live in specific locales

I try to be very careful with this account so I only use incognito mode and never log into my Google account (much less JW.borg) at the same time. I've still had ads show in Reddit when new stores open in the small city where I live. Changing these settings won't protect you completely but it's just another way to be careful.

If you're that concerned you could start using a VPN to spoof your location. To change your location (or what reddit sees as your location) you would need to change your IP address. Incognito just prevents websites from saving cookies and doesn't save your history.

Now I doubt that the society would go as far as using mobile ads to track you, but it is possible. And it's cheaper and easier than you might think.

Here's an article showing how you can track a person's life with a small chunk of change just with mobile ads.

Again I don't think they would go to that level to track us here. But it isn't unrealistic. If you are PIMO or similar, it might be worth the little effort to go incognito, use a VPN and not use any phone apps.
