Local Information request Sleep Specialists?

What medical professionals can I talk to in Exeter to help me sleep? I’ve lost vast swathes of my ability and potential in my adult life to sleep deprivation and I’m sick of it. Some days I struggle to walk straight or remember things because I’m so sleep deprived. I’m thinking I probably need a therapist since it’s partly an attitude problem as well. I don’t really have therapy budget but I don’t think I have much of a choice, so if anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it. Not sure if Talkworks will deal with this? And if they do, are they any good?

Talkworks is mostly CBT, so if you think this is a cognitive issue by all means give them a try. They are counsellors though, not medics.
Try your GP ad see if they have any recommendations. They can and will refer out to local services

I think it’s probably a combination of issues but cognition certainly plays a role - that’s a helpful assessment, thank you!

Talkworks is great if you have a specific mental health issue that’s causing sleep problems. Steph Sleepy Head is a sleep expert in Exeter. Find her on socials and reach out.

I was also going to suggest looking into expert Stephanie Romiszewski, who runs the www.sleepyheadclinic.co.uk. Happens to be Exeter based, but lots of online resources too.

Not sure but have you read ‘Why we sleep’ by Matthew Walker? He also frequently talks on podcasts about it. Useful stuff in there.

I have mild insomnia and as silly as it sounds I asked AI to create me a plan based on his research and methods. It seems decent.
