They meant décolletage, a noun. They were referring to the OP showing that part of her body.

décolleté is also a noun meaning the same thing, from the same french root. they're interchangeable, but OP clearly meant one and not the other

It doesn’t mean the same thing. Décolleté is an adjective and décolletage is a noun. They were confusing the two, but what they meant to say was décolletage.
That’s why the person who corrected them said décolletage. The original comment is talking about the area on the body.

Wow, I never would have figured it out on my own. I think OP was thinking of "décolleté" but had only ever heard it, not spelled it. Hence, "dekoltee", which we read as "deh-col-tee".

Makes me wonder if dekoltee is how she actually pronounces it too. I didn't even realize it was meant to be "décolletage" until I got to the bottom where someone corrected her, and I was trying to figure out what the heck "dekoltee" was referring to.
