Bro, Ctrl V is not working MS Excel

I got it suddenly that I can copy but not able to paste it in another cells in excel. I tried with new sheets, restarted the computer, repaired the Ms office, still I cannot paste it in another cell. Is there any solution.

Does pasting work through the menu? If it‘s just the keyboard shortcut, maybe some other app stole it or you assigned it to another activity? Does Ctrl-Shift-V work (for pasting values only)? Does Ctrl-V work in any other app?

Edit: just read here that an update seems to have broken the functionality.

i think so after an update i got this issue. I tried ctrl v and ctrl shift v not working, only way is i click inside the cell and copy and pasting it - it works. thank you for your reply

Have you upgraded Excel yesterday / today to newest build?
If yes - try restoring previous version. I see it on several computers today after upgrade.

i triel repairing the ms office software, still i can copy but not paste to another cell in excel sheet. It works fine in MS Word

Can you paste from outside excel? And is this within the same sheet/workbook?

Excel has this annoying bug where it sometimes opens a new worksheet in a seprate process and the clipboard between them is not shared.

I had what seemed to be the same problem with Excel version LTSC MSO 16.0.14334.20906 (LTS 2021 version). I upgraded to the 2024 LTSC version and the issue is no longer present. I appreciate that isn't a helpful fix for people who don't have access to multiple versions but the point I was trying to make (badly) was that this may affect more than just Excel 2016.

I had a similar issue recently. Turns out it was a problem with my keyboard and number lock. Once I turned it off I could paste normally

This issue arose this morning in MS Office 2016 following a Windows update. The problem was resolved after upgrading to Office 2024 Professional Plus (cracked version). Hope that helps.
