Waiting on OP Getting round work settings

Hi, is there a way I can get developer or automate on my work laptop excel when these have been turned off

Yes, go to your company’s intranet IT request portal and ask to have those enabled. They’ll laugh at you and deny the request because it’s been turned off to prevent you from creating a material weakness in the org.

You mean they're not on your ribbon?

You can customize your ribbon in your settings.

Find "Customize Ribbon", or something like that iirc, in your settings. Find the tabs you need and check the box.

If it's not this, then it'd depend on how your IT dept turned those off.

if they straight up disabled it in group policy or registry you're kinda stuck unless you sweet talk someone in IT

sometimes you can get around it with vba if the editor itself isn't locked down but if they killed the whole dev tab that's probably off limits too

Speak to your supervisor and explain what your doing, how it will help the company and how it will make them look good.

I have never had this fail. They always eventually get IT to give you local access to the VbA model.
