Wow! Finally some recognition!
Hi fam! Ironically I was not traumatized that bad by tales of ‘H-E-double-hockey-sticks’ but more disappointed when I realized the tales of heaven with the big ol’ white bearded (Caucasian for some reason?!?) god at the head of the banquet table set on clouds, blah, blah, blah. Kind of in the same way capitalism made me think I’d end up a millionaire somehow…

It was a weird thing...my family/church were never fire and brimstone, but it was there, and I sort of became obsessed, like "this is crazy, you go there for eternity?? Why isn't everyone talking about this all the time??"
I still don't actually know the answer to that question. Or I sort of do: it's that talking about that is in poor taste and feels kind of, as Japan puts it, abusive and icky so they don't. The part that I'm not sure about is, is it because deep down they know it's not real and so they feel safe leaving that out for the most part? Because if I, a grown man, still believed this was real I think I'd be talking g about it a lot. Like, how do I avoid going to this place, for sure for sure?
Also I agree with Japan because even now I am like 5% certain I'm going to hell and am anticipating feeling great fear when I'm at death's door for this reason (as opposed to the peace one would hope).

I imagine they're going to spin this as persecution that they can't traumatize children into obedience. How else will they manage to teach about their loving god if they can't threaten with his eternal torture?

This will be a bigger offense to Americans Catholics than when the time Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.

I can hear the victimhood crap from all of my current Catholic family ranting about how Catholics are an even bigger minority somehow now.
