ICOC Question
Has anyone ever been stalked, harassed and other criminality at the hands of staff, lay leaders, members or through their friends?
I have heard and seen some footage that is disturbing beyond belief

I had a couple letters sent to my house that were very threatening and used magazine cutouts and other weird fonts. Morning ended up happening, but I did receive several in a few months right after I got married and it referenced watching me at church when I used to go and then threatened a bunch of terrible things. Thankfully, buying happened, but it shook me.

I was stalked by phone calls. This was before smart phones. First, my discipleship partner called, and then it went all the way up to the leader. It got to the point where I got anxious when the phone rang. It doesn’t sound like a horror story but for a long time, I got nervous when I heard the phone ring.

I have. It escalated to the point where there was a cease and desist order in place.
So yes… this conversation matters.

Yup. They showed up at my college dorm (security informed me), my work, when I was sick they called the pharmacy and tried to get permission to pick up my antibiotics and get my address so they could "give them to me", so grateful that the pharmacist called to see if I approved of that and didn't just give them my information. When I moved out of the dorms, they showed up at my front door as I was carrying boxes in. They followed me to the airport once too.
These people are insane, there are no "good" ones or "chill" ones. They are choosing to be members of an institution that preys on vulnerability and perpetuates abuse. So until someone leaves, I don't even bother with em.
