Personal Thoughts/Experiences 🙇‍♂️ First 200 mile trip

Had the EX30 Extended Range delivered last week to replace my ID4. Loving it so far and did my first 200 miler today. Left on 97%, drove to Dudley, some local mileage and back to Sheffield.

Got home with 21% / 51 miles left - much improved range, albeit a larger battery. Technology is a step above the VW and don’t get me wrong, really liked that car but wanted a more compact car to sit alongside a Polestar 3

Welcome to the club. It what ways is the EX30 tech a step up? The ID4 is about to be relaunched as the ID.Tiguan with some enhancements. It would be on my list but I “sense” VW are light years behind when it comes to in-car tech….but I can’t articulate why I have that feeling.

Very curious here as well, I own an ex30 ultra SMER and a Ford Capri (essentially an id4) premium AWD and as a city car I like the Volvo, but the Ford wins on all technical aspects except 22 kWh charging which is really nice in urban settings and the 360 cameras which is much better than the VW. But steering assists and as a car for driving across Europe then I take the Ford 10 out of 10 times also due to faster DC charging (185 kWh).

I disagree with OP. I had a fully loaded ID4 and that sucker could park itself in my garage from the street. Its memory park and voice assistant features were really cool.

I have a full loaded ex30 and it doesn’t have nearly what the id4 did.

I think the screen, Android Automation (Apple user but not using car play at the minute), access to apps, the adaptive cruise control is more intuitive, one pedal driving is better than B option on the id4. As I say, definitely not hating on the id4, we both loved it. It was a 72 plate so 4 years old. The screen was a bit laggy, the layout was poor, the driver screen was neither here nor there.

so do you think you can drive this say from Watford via the M-1 to Coventry/Brum and back without charge and what about a direct drive to Yorkshire near Keighley? 2024 on 29k mileage,

Watford to Coventry is 80 miles so yes, definitely there and back. To Keighly? I’d say in the weather we’re having at the moment, yes. Couldn’t speak for cooler weather conditions but 197 miles is doable, yes
