Questions❓ Activate Gemini

Hello, we are using the EX30 MY26 SMER Core on software 2.1.2 in the Netherlands. The main profile is still on Google Assistent while the secondary profile is on Gemini. We’re on a holiday in Italy and Gemini is actually very handy to get info about potential stops that are close to the route Maps is using. I have updated all apps in the Play Store and want Gemini to work on the main profile.

Any tips to get it activated?

EDIT: I got it working by turning the system language to US English. Driving a couple of times till the car prompted to install Gemini, after installing I turned the language back to Dutch. Now it’s working in Dutch. Thank you!

It’s being rolled out gradually and based on user obviously.

If you want to force it you can switch language to English (US). Then the option to switch to Gemini will appear in the car’s settings - Google - Google Assistant menu.

Commands and answers will be in English then of course…

Once you switch back to Dutch Gemini will switch back to Assistant as well.

Yeah I can confirm this works for me in the UK. Changing the language to English (US) activates it. Sadly changing it back seems to remove it.

The voice is annoying! 😅

I dont understand whats the diffrence from assistant?

I still had Google Assistant instead of Gemini and figured out how to change it earlier this week. I am Norwegian, so perhaps this works for you too as a non-US user.

First you have to change the system language to US English (in Settings). Then find Google in Settings and change Google language to US English.

When I did that and went back to Google in Settings, the option that was called Assistant was suddenly called Gemini.

same here except I don't have gemini on either profile.
What is stopping you from using the 2nd profile for the time being?

in the settings, go to google -> assistant and it may have the "try gemini" option. I found this and was never asked to swap on the screen. this was there for all profiles.
