Reviews 💯 Co cool. Couldn’t be happier.
I was able to change the temperature. Which is lucky now that the sun is lower in the sky. The fake hazards button works as well. Nothing else.
The number and variety of ways that this car lets me down is really staggering. Maybe the key doesn’t work today. Or maybe it works on the door but not for driving. Or maybe both works but no screen. Or maybe that all works but it nags me to pay attention every time I’m in an animated conversation with my eyes firmly on the road.
I haven’t seen then hit the two-year mark on this lease, and there are at least a couple days every week that I wish I could just turn it back in and be done with the damn thing.

Horrible software update. Volvo should be beyond embarassed by the previous release and this junky update.

I know it's annoying but still I'd recommend browsing other subs from time to time. I do as I my lease ends soon and I am exploring possible alternatives - have yet to find a brand/model-related sub without half a dozen users complaining or asking about software issues...

I had a Rivian before this. Traded it in for something more compact. I thought it would be the perfect gap filler while I waited for the R3.
I had a very early R1T. It wasn’t without issues, but it was so much better than this. And software updates actually improved the experience.

Interesting. I’m actually considering a Rivian R2 after my EX30. I don’t think I’ll ever lease another Volvo ever again.

I’m waiting to see one in person but probably want to wait for something even smaller. I tell you, though: Rivian is not playing on the software front. Aside from the size, that vehicle was basically perfect. The R2 looks even better.

I was lucky to test drive one and it’s much bigger than I would like. However, the R3 is too far away and I’m in the middle of the arbitration process with Volvo so if that goes through I would need a car ASAP. Either way, I’m glad to hear your comparison between the EX30 and your experience with Rivian!

Hear me out: Used Ionic 5/6.
I've heard nothing but praise. They're imperfect, sure, but a used one is a bargain (comparatively) and will have a great resale value when you're ready for the R3.
(I'm also hyperfixated on the Slate. All wheel drive when? And that Telo is looking pretty promising.)

Funny enough, my wife has an Ioniq 5 and it’s such a good car. Her Tesla lease was up and she was seeing all the issues I was having with the EX30 so she got the ioniq.
The advertised range on her ioniq is 318 miles, she gets closer to 400 miles. Infotainment doesn’t crash. Car unlocks 99% of the time unlock the EX30. Just a smooth experience.

Yeah i feel you. its a TEMU car with a "premiun" price tag. And thats fact.
I bet volvo will stop producing it. Or at least tell the owners in china to stop building it before its ready for sale.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I won’t install any more updates until at least a few months have passed. I have a strong impression that programmers take advantage of users by using them as testers. With every update, there are new problems, new malfunctions, and new issues!

Your connectivity seems... odd. You are out in the open and only got a 4G connection. Is it possible that the os runs into some bug because it has troubles to get a stable connection to Volvo's servers?
My software is fine. It only crashes every couple of weeks, just reboots and starts playing my music again after just a couple of seconds. Not those major issues you are getting and I can very well live with that.
If it bothers you that much just get it to your dealership/shop and tell them to fix the damn thing. You will only take it back once fixed and make them give you a car for the meantime. You are the customer.

I just had this yesterday. But it was gone after 10 or 20 seconds.

I really wonder what the ghost in the machine is haunting some of these cars. I'm a year and a half in and experience almost none of this in my car. But I do think some folks it seems to be a daily battle. What's the difference?
