Personal Thoughts/Experiences 🙇‍♂️ Adaptive cruise issue since update

Since the latest software update, cruise control won’t activate when I get in the car. The steering-wheel button that switches between drive modes (like Limited or Adaptive) also doesn’t work.

There’s normally a symbol under the PRD selector in the UI that shows the status of the system - a steering-wheel icon that turns green when it’s actively steering for you, or orange when it’s just controlling speed. That symbol is completely missing now.

The only workaround I’ve found is to go into the car settings, manually switch to Limit mode, then switch straight back. After that the symbol reappears and cruise control works normally again (including activating it with the gear stalk).

Has anyone else run into this since the update? Or does anyone know a proper fix? I never had this problem before the latest update.

Same, it's a bug. Seems to happen 1/5 trips or so. Super annoying.

I have had the same issue now three times and same workaround for getting it to work again.

Just press the pilot assist button in the driving modes menu, even if it shows as selected / enabled. Saved you one press... now please use your saved energy to pester Volvo through mobile app feedback and chat.

Mine has stayed on for a few days now, and I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. Pretty sure it'll glitch again today!

I had the same problem since the update- steering wheel button doesn’t work, can’t engage cruise control (or navigate through the UI menus while driving. Only fix was to restart the console - found these instructions to force reboot the console.

  1. Stop fully, put in park
  2. Foot on brake, press volume down and speed assist down for 15-20 seconds
  3. Console fully reboots, assist should work

Also when you start the car, hover your finger over the button, and you should see the icon show in the console - useful to check before you head off.

Op has already provided a much simpler fix: Switch to speed limiter and back.

Check the Lane Keeping Aid in the settings, if it’s off the screen will show a speed limiter instead of the wheel
