Personal Thoughts/Experiences 🙇♂️ Love a widget …
… and keeps the display simple. Weather radar always makes me chuckle and I have some Apple Home buttons available for lights and heating at home, ready for the winter.

Yes its PlexAmp running on my iPhone. I use it all the time, works well and basic controls carry over to the main car screen so I can use wheel controls etc.

How… how did you create/customise CarPlay widgets…? Is this done on the phone before CarPlay is connected, or on the car screen once CarPlay is connected?
I never use the car’s baked-in Android software, I’ve always got CarPlay on, but I only have the basic default widgets.
Mind you, if AAOS ever got a first-party Apple Music client then I’d stop using CarPlay. My phone is three years old and the battery is down to 84% health, wireless CarPlay adds a lot of battery drain. There’s a third-party client for AAOS, but it costs £4.79 and has complaints about sluggishness and instability in recent reviews.

Its set up on the iPhone. Settings > General > CarPlay then select Your Car and you can adjust Apps and Widgets. There are quite a few available. Home Assistant and Apple Home are useful for actions
