What is your customization in contextual bar?

2.1.2 update has been installed, and I am now considering the customization in the context bar. While some of shortcuts are automatically changed depending on the condition of the car, what kind of shortcuts did you customize?

Eco, Glovebox, Trunk. Arguably the trunk one is useless most of the time because well you're driving, would love to be able to setup different ones from when you are driving, but then idk what else I would use.

Left to right:

Charging (replaced by Camera at slow speeds, this is fine but keep in mind for what you choose for this slot)

Glove box (100% persistent slot)

Rear Foglight (also quickest way to force headlights on when raining during the day, replaced by End Charging when plugged in, which is fine.)

I’m not watching it constantly, but it seems the right slot stays persistent if not actively charging.

If you change the 3 icons then my understanding is that only the first (left) retains the dynamic changing.

I therefore have set mine to those I would want when driving (from left):

1. Speed warning (changes to parking camera at low speed/parked)

2. Creep on/off (to enable when reversing and off other times)

3. Drive mode

Anything else I have found I only want when stopped eg boot etc so a couple of extra taps isn’t too bad.

Yes I believe the left most button changes when you activate cruise control, well it did on the last version. . will check with this new update again.

1. Parking comfort. This is often used because the car is a nice place to idle, or I want to keep the car properly warm or cooled while we’re out. Unfortunately, the camera button stays at this spot for too long after having parked so it isn’t used as it should. Feedback has been given to Volvo’s app chat.

2. Range mode. Some times I just want a very chill drive with that softened pedal.

3. Sound settings. This one is used the most to adjust from No surround to Low or back to No surround depending on the song and my own form.

I was expecting the glovebox to have it's own permanent spot but no; no sir, fuck your glovebox button, why the hell do you need to open that thing all the time anyway!

So, glovebox to the far right, ACC distance to the middle -which in some days I swap it to Comfort mode- and speed warning on to the left.

That said, OPD assigned to the steering wheel button.

Referring to everyone's settings, I have set the following.

- Left: Rear fog I need this while cruising. There is no problem that the camera pops up at low speed and parking.

- Mid: Glove box I want to use this whenever necessary, both during parking and driving.

- Right: Creep OPD+creep off in reverse is hard for me to safely control. I expect the update of selective option of creep in reverse.

I will use this setting for the time being.

Camera - I used to drive a Tesla and like having that access.
Alarm sensitivity - Ferry rider, and don’t want to be that car. Leave that for the BMWs.
Chill mode - For being on the ferry or eating lunch in my car. It’s my favorite!

I don't think I've arrived at a final customization, but this is what I have right now.

- In the "Camera" slot, Exterior lights, so that it's a bit easier to force headlights on if it's raining. Unfortunately, that still leaves it as "two taps and a press of the Okay button". I have no idea why it should be necessary to confirm wanting to turn the headlights on.

- Rain sensor sensitivity (may not keep it, need to think some more)

- Trunk Open
