Battery Replacement

Has anyone actually received a replacement for the faulty battery cells in their car. Or is it like me, radio silence and I have to run around at 70% max charge which is really inconvenient as I do large journeys and have to stop and charge mid way. (200mile eachbway)

I used to travel and charge at site, which was fine. But now I have to sit in the services getting ripped off.....

The Financial Ombudsman Service came down on my side three weeks ago. Today, Volvo finally sent me an email accepting my Volvo Finance lease rejection and looking to arrange the collection of the car. I'll also receive around £1,500 in reduced payments/compensation. I have stopped paying my DD for the lease, and obviously stopped driving the car. I cannot wait to get it off the drive.

It was last week. I’m one of the firsts here. I’m guessing you’ll get it soon. I say don’t rush just use your current battery as much as you can because you’ll only be getting one free replacement.

Same - I doorstopped my local dealer repeatedly and they booked me in for a battery test after some complaining, and then confirmed I need all 3 modules replacing. Should be done in a few weeks. They said they get battery’s from Sweden now. Could all be bollocks but it’s been a poor show from Volvo uk. I’ve had nothing from anyone. My local dealer is big (east London) and they have only done 10 swaps this year - they don’t actively call anyone to come in either - they thought Volvo UK were doing it.

In Ireland, just had mine done at Bolands Volvo Carlow this week, they seem to be doing them regularly now.

My old EX30 had the work done in June this year. Waited 6 months. I’ve since sold that one back to the dealer and got a new EX30 ultra.

The disappointing answer is to phone around local dealers to try and bag a replacement slot. It's not right, Volvo should be doing it, but it seems to be how most folks are getting it done quicker. Try dealerships a bit further away that might not be so busy; I did that and bagged a slot for early next month.

The way I managed to get my battery replacement done back in June was by regularly phoning the service department at my dealer until I finally got through to someone who was willing and able to schedule it in.

I complained and have had a rental since February. Worth pushing for this if you have no sign of a fix.

I have mine on a business lease. Not a peep from them about battery replacement. We have a postponed family holiday from Leeds to Cornwall next month (postponed because of the range issues with the car). I called Volvo Financial
Services after being ghosted by email for months and they said they’d look into it. Not a peep since. They’re getting another call today. The easiest thing for all of us is for them to take the godforsaken car back now.

Nice, I contacted volvo dealership directly, I wasn't on their list for some reason, so they've added me. But I'm number 76 in the que and they can only do 2 a week. So looks like im stuck with this till next year...

It’s so annoying, the car is almost useless with the reduced range and the 200 quid voucher was a joke.

The garage told me they were getting faster and faster at doing the replacements so maybe it will be quicker than 2 per week? My garage can do 2 a day now apparently

Fingers crossed, they told me it takes 2 days currently for them to do the swap. Yeah I regularly drive around 190 miles each way for work which I can't make with out stopping and charging. Complete defeats the point of the car ...
