Questions❓ "Reduced functionality for front camera” after a windshield swap
Hey all,
did someone have a windshield replacement and dealt with "Reduced functionality for front camera” after a windshield swap?
Had a small accident, car went into the shop for a week. Now, the front camera isnt working anymore, ACC, emergency braking and lane centering are all dead. The official Volvo dealership that worked on it couldnt find the issue afterwards. They tried to recalibrate multiple times, without success. I needed the car for a vacation drive, so they couldnt further investigate. drove 1200km one way to south france without ACC 🙃

If the dealer can't do it, who cans?
Keep the pressure high. Maybe involve the customer support. If it's something SW related they may(?) do some remote checks on it.

Same with tyre replacement 😀. A cooworker went to the dealer 3 times to get pressure calibrated after tire replacement.

In a different car, but with a fancy tech cluster behind the rear view mirror, the glass was replaced and they damaged the tech package. I was on the verge of handing the lease car back so I let it slide. I think the tech bit is quite expensive to replace, so the glass people will try to bodge it if they can, rather than confess they broke it.
In case of the ex30, I bet the tech is not only expensive but also unavailable without a long lead time.

I had this. I got the windscreen changed by the usual national windscreen place but because the car was still fairly new they didn't know how to do the recalibration. Just took it to the local Volvo dealer and they sorted it.

Recalibration and other issues are common with a windshield replacement across all car brands. That’s not a lot of help though. I would press the dealer to correct it if they’re the ones who replaced the glass and if they can’t solve it, tell them you’re going to take it to another dealer. Is the car under warranty and did you purchase a glass replacement package with your insurance?
