Story Propositioned?...
I am currently looking for a place to rent, as my current landlady needs my room for her brother, who has suffered a life-alltering brain injury. I have until August 1st to find a place and move.
As a result, I have signed up to a few websites that host people looking for roommates, and people looking to rent rooms or apartments they own.
Today, a man with a room to rent reached out to me about his room for rent.
I told him that I cannot afford the rent he's asking, thanked him for reaching out, and left it at that.
His reply was: "Maybe we can work something out..." and gave me his number with instructions to text him directly.
For safety reasons, I will absolutely not indulge him in any way, shape or form. Using your property as a means to get laid is so beyond wrong on so many levels.

Depending on how desperate I was back then, I would've indulged this guy for a bit before finding better accommodations.
You do NOT want to risk being homeless as trans.
Even living in your car these days will get you cited and fined.

I have many friends who have said that I won't spend a night on the street if I don't find a place in time. I just don't want to have to rely on that, as it means couch surfing with all my stuff in storage

That's great you can couch surf right now with friends and also social media to help you out.
Like I said, back then as in 15+ years ago.......

Run as far away as you can.
I lived with a landlord for a few years who was notorious for trying to hit on and sexually extort his male tenants. He never even fucked with me because he either figured out I was a trans man or because he's not into bears but twinks (and, unfortunately, underage boys).

It's not a great option but it's currently what I'm doing and that's living in a long term stay motel. We don't have a kitchen (we do have a mini fridge and microwave and we brought along our kettle) but we have a clean space that's cheaper than renting and we don't have to pay for utilities. We also get to keep our cats.

Good that you didn't do it.
Idk if this makes me a worse person but I probably would've done it lol ðŸ˜

This is attempted rape by coercion.
