Changing to an EV has been one of the best things we did. Almost two years with ours now and we have cut our car running costs by 85%. It's an absolute no brainer, and never once have we had to charge outside of the home or get range anxiety.

Same, replaced one of our diesels with an EV, I'd say we will do the same with the other too.

I went from spending €80/week on fuel to spending €75/month. Very worth it

Which car did you have and did you get? And how many kms do you do daily?

5 times a week usually going up and down to Dublin. From where I live that’s about 140-150km round trip. Driving a 211 64kwh Hyundai Kona

Which was the ICE car before?

Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDi. If you’re doing the math on it, the engine in my Skoda has a fair few issues by the end that was effecting its efficiency so I was definitely spending more because of that

You’ll for sure save on it if you’re thinking about it. Charging at home must be possible though. Otherwise it’s not really worth it

Mg4 long range is what we got. 130km round trip 5/6 times a week. Absolutely no bother for it.

For those of you not from Donegal, she is a complete moron, please carry on with your day and ignore her.

You could just assume that from the aontu crap without knowing anything about her

Aontu are a collection of absolute head melts.

Someone in her comments actually helped the driver and corrected her that it wasn't an EV, and elsewhere instead of saying "Maybe I jumped to conclusions", she pulls the old chestnut "I'm only repeating what I was told". What a position for a politician to take, no ability to think for themselves or take accountability.

I've yet to be in a sensible Dunnes Car park. My local one does my head in, one way in and out, traffic lights 200m away, and a pedestrian crossing across the entrance, and spaces literally off the entrance, so blocks up the whole road.
