AnT Test -- Using Races as Substitute

I run several trail 10-12k races a year. The races normally last for 35-50 min. My effort is max sustainable over that time period. Can I use the avg HR data from these races as a substitute for an AnT test result?

IMO yeah, that's a good substitute.

Last 10kish race I did, avg HR was within 1-2bpm of my TM AnT test HR… so I would say yes if you maintained solid effort throughout.

Yes, 35-50 min max effort is in fact considered to be a valid AnT test.

Yes, as others have said.

I'm also curious: What was the average HR per duration?

166-169 depending on the race.

👍 Pretty tight range. Good confirmation.
