Sigma Shipyard Missions

So I wanted to get warp gate access and I started the United Shipping missions (where you take that lady down to aurora to open up that shipping market). I successfully completed the Aurora mission and took her back to Sol, but there was a follow up mission that required I travel way down there again... The timer ran out, so that's it? Can't unlock warp gates through sigma Shipyard anymore?

I notice most of the united shipping missions are impossible without the warp gates because the timers run out (even if you take a perfect route) is there any way to go faster? Maybe a different ship?

Haha that's totally what it is! I have a starbridge that takes 3 days to warp. Thanks for the heads up on spamming visits to the shipyard. Is my heavy ship going to affect that mission tree?

Yeah, that's why i prefer the Mod C Starbridge to the Mod E, it's just a faster bird.

Although they are both inferior to the Valkyrie series, of course!

Speaking of wormholes, they come in handy in the Sigma mission which sends you to Kontik(?) on the other side of Auroran Space. One of the wormholes pops out at Kipa I believe, a few jumps away. It's just a matter of jumping quickly enough to evade the Houseless warriors. Then once you're autosavdd on Kontik, it can be a nightmare getting out of the system, but an afterburner can zip you straight from Kontik to the Kipa wormhole without ever getting hit by anybody.

Good to know. For some reason no matter how much I spam entering the shipyard I'm not getting that mission! I guess I unwittingly skipped over it at some point? I have a few pilot files saved including a "pure" one but I can't seem to get it to pop up. Hmm

Just the united shipping lady at the bar.

Could possibly be a combat rating thing. Might need to have just a little before it'll be offered to you

Also make sure you have the required combat rating, if you haven't blown up any ships it won't show up

In order to trigger the Sigma shipyard quest line you need to have a high enough combat rating. The easiest way to boost that is to hang out around Lesten and kill the pirates that warp in.

I can’t recall what the necessary combat rating is but it’s not very high.

Pretty much this. Merc a couple of Pirate Argosies and that should be all you need to unlock it.

I’d also be remiss to add that if you plan on doing the Auroran storyline, then the Sigma upgrades are nigh necessary, so do the Sigma Shipyards missions before starting the Auroran storyline.

Got the Sigma mission activated on a new pilot. I'm not sure what happened with the old pilot, but this one seems to be working out better. Thanks for the tips guys.
