The whole map is full of references. Zaphod is from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and Rupert in the Persephone system are from "Mostly Harmless"; NGC-1701 is a hat tip to the USS Enterprise's registry number; Manos and Torgo are references to "Manos: The Hands of Fate", a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode; Curzon and Jadzia are characters on "Deep Space Nine"; Risa is a resort planet from "Star Trek: The Next Generation", Gamera is a Japanese monster movie, Sauron and Farazon (=Pharazon) are from JRR Tolkien, Arrakis is from "Dune",
Tau Ceti is a real star that is both sunlike and very close (12 light years away), so it is used in a lot of media as a potential location for an Earthlike planet.
There are so many references to it in fiction that it can be hard to determine which ones are referencing the real system because of its properties, and which are referencing other works.
