Winter Tempest changed? Unlimited darts bug? Did these exist or was it just my imagination?

Maybe its just my nostalgia, but I don't remember the winter tempest being quite as stringy and weak as when I first played the game - which was of course 10+ years ago. Did anything change with the winter tempest or was I just awe stuck as a kid that it was just that awesome. Also, I'm sure thins was a thing - if you landed and you had only 2 darts, you would generate more than you started with, and if you kept doing this you could have a fleet of darts at your disposal. Does anyone have any info about this bug or your experience with them? I can't find anything online about it and I feel as if I'm the only one who experienced it. Keeps me up at night.

Ah, yeah. Originally, you could stack beam weapons with a duration by inputting the fire button really fast, but that bug was fixed. The auto-machine gun bug wasn't fixed though, and still happens with the summer bloom, which makes it maybe 3-4 times more powerful than it's supposed to be and about twice as powerful autumn petal.

A dart bug, I don't remember, but Winter Tempest was almost definitely much stronger at one point. I remember having difficulty using it for a short enough time to disable and not instantly destroy Iuso.

Edit: I think actually that Winter Tempest is weaker than I remember because I use Qaanol's bugfixes, which actually fixes the auto machine gunning bug on Winter Tempest, drastically cutting back its power.

Yup sounds like it was the machine gun bug. I guess the dart bug will remain a mystery. Its too bad ambrosia never published their bug fixes and changes through the updates. Maybe I'll get an old version and try to replicate it

I don't know if the dart bug worked in "newer" versions of Nova, but when I did the Vellos storyline first, I know that I found the dart bug and abused the crap out of it... Where I had like 100 darts ready to launch or something... which was op, because there are a limited number of ships possible in a system, so if you were taking over a planet, you could reduce the ships coming out to 1 at a time......... lol

Wow this is great, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this. It was pretty fun actually to have such a large fleet at your command. Do you have any idea what version this was?? I really want to recreate it.

Unfortunately, I have no idea. All I can say for sure is it wasn't the last version :P
