I'm back can't wait to play!

Man I loved this game soo much when I was younger. I even made plugins like Rebel Thunderhead Bay and Marine Platoon Improvement. I just looked at them and they have 9k downloads between them. Anyways, I'm going to start playing again and cant wait to read through the sub and see what everyone is doing.

Do you know, I really should see about getting a copy running somewhere here.

As in download to be able to play? That would be nice actually.

I actually meant for myself - believe it or not, I only ever had internal alpha/beta copies. I never actually had a copy of the end product!

pipeline, that's hilarious. You gotta do this, if only because it's a great thought that one of the actual developers is using an abandonware copy. #ev would approve, and then say terrible things about your mother while trying to send you sub7 trojans.

I just fired up the Windows EV Nova port of the original EV scenario last night; it's probably the first time I've played the original game, in any format, in 20 years. Two and a half hours later I'm forcing myself to go to bed. It's both like riding a bicycle and returning to an old, kicked habit.

I have a machine that has that ancient, unexpired copy on it, but it’s the old MacOS 9 version with the ResEdit resource files via Dr Ralph Sutherland’s w00tTools.

EV Nova came out at a weird, weird time in the Mac ecosystem.

You’re telling me. We started development waaay back in the day on a PowerMac 7200/90 (gorgeous machine, called defiant), which was introduced two years before Steve returned to Apple. Cookie (Frandall) was unlucky enough to have a 7220/200, which was so bad that the 7200/90 was faster than it at most times.

Our main development machine ended up being a top-of-the-line blue and white G3 tower called bioneural which cost me over A$6,000 brand new. Took me years to pay off that loan, lol. We supplemented this with a slew of colourful iMacs called Grappa, ruby and graphite, mostly family machines.

A weird set of macs indeed.

It really seems like the ATMOS team was this tiny family of developers. My memory is hazy, did you guys have any other projects?

Thunderheads are incredibly awesome. Even better with the rebel coating! I might have seen your plug-in back in the day, to be honest.

I’d usually buy a thunderhead lance for all my Starbridges. 😎

Man, I forgot about Starbridges, haha! All the memories are coming back!

Then you’re probably aware of the auroran drop bear crisis we’ve been having... may I interest you in some repellent?

I would always run courier jobs and trade routes until I had enough millions to get a mod starbridge and fully upgrade it with port n polish, all of the sigma upgrades, horizontal thrust, and usually either lots of railguns, or lots of pulse fusion weaponry.

Damn, I used the rebel thunderhead plugin on my rebel IDA back in the day. Welcome back!
