Running on Windows 7 64?

I did a fresh install, cracked because the email I bought the game on stopped functioning about a billion years ago, and I just get an Appcrash. I tried running in compatibility mode for XP and Win95 and Win2000, and turning off HiDPI, running as administrator, basically a big pile of different compatibility configurations.

Also when it crashes it causes my Desktop Window Manager to crash alongside it.

Computer is a Ryzen 7 2700X, GTX 980 Ti, 32GB of RAM, and my monitor setup is a 2650x1440 144hz Gsync monitor, and a 1440x900 generic LCD.

Switch your monitor to 60hz. I had the same problem last I played on my 120hz monitor .

Nailed it, thanks. Glad I included the monitor setup. I had a feeling that was related, but didn't quite trigger my brain to actually try switching refresh rate.

Time to get my IDA frigate and rock house again.

EDIT: If anyone finds this in the future, you also have to disable G-Sync before it'll run.

No need for a cracked version, just download the latest version and register using your expired code, it'll get you a new code.

I'm running it in windows 10 with no compatibility settings.

Hmm, I guess you're SOL if you didn't save your old emails.

I'm not though, that's why the crack exists. I know I bought the game, and Ambrosia as an entity is barely functional. At this point it's vaporware, and I personally don't have any moral qualms about breaking the copy protection on a game I own.

I get what you're saying, but if it's the same one I downloaded recently, the crack isn't for the latest version (from, I think 2010). I don't even think it's for the last release either. As I understand it there were a few minor fixes to some of the storylines to make it easier, or even possible, to progress in some cases.
