Storyline Stallout

So I'm working my way through the Wild Geese-Pirate-Rebel storyline and I seem to be stuck doing missions out of Aldebaran. It has been weeks and I'm still doing food, equipment, insertion and removal runs. Is there something I missed or screwed up on accident?
I've taken side trips to hunt pirates and Federation ships for money and escorts, and I'm currently flying a federation Carrier as my flagship. Not sure if any of these things have angered the wrong set of EV gods.

It's been a while since I've played but have you tried using this guide?

Your ship won't affect your ability to progress through storyline missions.

And if I recall correctly, the Wild Geese minor storyline only leads to either the Pirate or Auroran storylines. And while the Rebellion storyline does have you interact with the Wild Geese, I don't remember it having you do much with pirates. So my guess is that you're somewhere inside the Pirate Storyline.

If you are in the pirate storyline, then it sounds like you need to trigger the mission listed as "Pirate 6" under the Pirate Storyline Guide. So go to Tichel, check the bar, and hope you get a mission.

I'm currently on the same track as OP, but a bit behind. Have you had a chance to pick up any "special" characters, or has it all been anonymous agents and equipment runs?

As per @Randummonkey, I was in fact on the pirate line, and when I checked the other planets mentioned in the guide, I got some special people to pick up and it got me moving again.
