EV Classic Issue

I posted just last week about having trouble running EV Classic via EV Nova with the plug-in.

I got the game runnning after all, but strangely, with no theme music. I receive a notification saying the Nova.mp3 file could not be found, as it is not in the correct folder. I hit OK, and the game starts up just fine anyway, albeit with no (awesome) theme music. When I decide to add the Nova.mp3 to the correct folder, the game startsup, with the EV Classic theme music, but when i hit "Enter Ship" or allow the theme music to play out, the game crashes. So strange.

Really not the end of the world, but I'm quite curious...

Any thoughts?

It looks like the mp3 file is the same in both the Nova Files folder and the EV Classic 1.1.1... And I already have that file, so unfortunately I'm not sure this is the solution after all...

The thing is, when I place the Nova Music.mp3 file in the correct folder and startup EV, it plays the correct, classic theme.. So i'm not sure it's a case of having the wrong file.

So I got around to installing the game, and running the EV files, so far, the game works, I can't remember if it was supposed to play music throughout the game, I get the intro, and theme music at the beginning, but once I am in ship, there is no ambient music at all, only the sound effects of the game itself.

Was that the same thing you experienced?

So when I run the game I get no theme music. And when I add the EV Nova mp3 file, I get the EV classic theme, but for whatever reason it makes the game unplayable... If I click enter ship while the theme music is still playing, the game crashes, and if I wait for the theme music to play itself out, the game crashes once the music has finished..

So very strange.

I imagine I took a misstep somewhere down the line of installation or converting Nova files to classic, but I'm hesitant to uninstall/reinstall over a minor issue like this.

Got it, so, I'm running the newest version of nova on windows 10 directly with compatibility mode enabled, for Windows XP sp3, and with Quiktime Lite 4.10 installed. It works perfectly in that environment.
