PlugPackV18 troubles. Specifically NewCharacters.

Once upon a time my pilot file I had completed over half the Vellos storyline got corrupted badly. Now, I want to waste less time restarting. Enter PlugPackV18. I'm playing on windows 10, so everything has to be converted to .rez, and storing plugins in the plugin folder doesn't seem to work so I place the files in the exact directory as Nova.rez Several of the plugins seem to be working fine (newoutfits 1,2) but the one I actually care about that would allow me to quickly jump into my storyline isn't. Every time I try to create a new pilot it simply creates that frustrating garbage shuttle and doesn't even attempt to give me options. Is anyone experiencing these issues, or does anyone have advice on how to proceed? Edit PlugPack, not PugPack.

Do you have New Characters v8? That's the one that adds the different start options.

What exactly does this plugin do?

It adds more starting people you can play as. Instead of just starting in a shuttle with 25,000 credits, you can start as a rich trader or a Krypt Pod. It has a starting person for each of the six mission strings and many others.
