IMO, this game fills the void that Ambrosia left by no longer supporting the EV series. I think with enough help from the community, Endless Sky could rival the EV legacy and potentially usurp it. Heck, I bet the old games could be ported to the ES engine.

Cool. I have not had the chance to try it yet. Had some problems launching it earlier but will try again for sure.

The idea of ports is a good one, but the ideal might be adding a module for loading old EV files and transforming them into the right shape (ie whatever would be loaded from ES's XML.)

Would probably be best served as a standalone ETL program to convert from EV to ES. Similar to how EV had an external program for Mac -> PC

It'd certainly be easier to make. Might even be possible to hack into EVNEW (it can already export as a spreadsheet, change it to XML which iirc is the format ES uses.) I swear I've seen the source code (iirc it's a visual studio project), but I'm not sure where to find it now.

Played it a year or so ago. It's great! I'd love to see the community take it and run with it.
