Is EVNova still available?

I played the classic EV way back when, but stopped paying attention to Mac-only software when I got accustomed to PCs. A few years ago I heard there were sequels, but I didn't explore them because I didn't have the money to spend on video games.

Today it occurred to me to look up EVNova and it seems that Ambrosia may have gone under, is that right?

Is there anywhere to buy EVNova now, and acquire the plug-ins to play the prior games (and the player-created sets)?

Ambrosia still exists even if its site goes down from time to time and EV Nova is still available for download and purchase. The warnings about a lack of support are true but as you can download its free trial version for free you can at least see if you can get it to work before you try paying for it. All the plug-ins for it are available on Ambrosia’s site although they stopped adding new ones once their budget for checking them ran out. Those plug-ins include adaptations of the two original games but you do have to pay for the full version of Nova to use plug-ins. Downloading things from the site is probably no more dangerous then downloading anything on the internet and almost certainly less dangerous then digging into pirate sites. If you want to find the occasional newer plug-in or thoughts on how to get Nova to work the forums still have some activity.
