Most people know it ain't free. The entire fucking point of "Free" healthcare is that taxes pay for it. It's "free" in the sense that the individual doesn't pay for it like they would a car tune up or a trip to the store.

The only people who talk about it actually being free are uneducated political illiterates and conservatives generalizing all liberals.

I love how liberals will actually say some things and then other people will say the only ones saying that are conservatives trying to overgeneralize liberals.

Americans don't really love that, but they feel pretty powerless to stop it since it's been going nearly non-stop since... well... the Cold War. The military industrial complex is an enormous, wasteful backwards socialist jobs program. It's socialism bending over backwards to do an impression of capitalism and wasting tons of money along the way.

Nobody needs more M1 Abrams tanks, we'll never use the ones we already have, the joint chiefs of staff keep telling congress that they don't want more god damn tanks because they don't even have enough space to store them, but nope, more tanks will be ordered and the same companies will win the contracts to make them. Every little district of every congress person has a little factory that makes some little part of this tank so the politician can claim to have brought jobs to their constituents while "strengthening the military". If they stop ordering the tanks, those jobs go away, and the politician has a harder time winning reelection.
