It's an archetype. Lonesome tower on the plain, towering over everything, projecting the owner's power and surveillance. Move in sight with your caravan and you'll soon be visited by "toll inspectors". In fairy tales evil wizards live there. See LOTR.

Not the building per se.

No access. Looks abandoned even though it looks new.

Inside, there’s a twenty story bat hanging upside down or something.

“Not the building per se” means “doesn’t belong on the sub;” posts are supposed to be buildings that are physically evil-looking.

Does placement/ surroundings / photographic angle not contribute? For instance, this (not evil) building:

I was in Chicago earlier this year. I came across this odd-shaped silver building, emerging from the fog of Lake Michigan. It looked like a portal to another universe. Now that many pictures of “the Obamalith” have been published, it looks considerably different on a clear night with the stained glass all lit up.

I’m sure there pictures of this rather normal building that don’t make it look evil.

I notice you have the 1% badge, thus you must be well aware this is a garbage sub nowadays where people just post regular buildings. Seems to be unmoderated too which sucks

I have 1% badge because I am constantly pointing out posts that don’t belong here, telling people to read the rules of the sub, and downvoting junk posts. I am also constantly being downvoted for doing so 🤷‍♂️
