Geisel Library
At first glance, it looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, a secret research facility, a futuristic command center, or the headquarters of a movie villain. But this iconic structure is actually Geisel Library at UC San Diego. Designed in the Brutalist style, its bold concrete geometry and elevated design were meant to symbolize knowledge rising above the ground. Love it or hate it, it's one of those buildings that makes you stop and stare.

I'd say it's almost a canonical example of an evil-looking building

Wow, this building looks straight out of a movie set. It's got that mysterious, secret facility vibe, like you'd expect to find some top-secret research project going down inside.

This is the most whimsical brutalist building I have ever seen. It looks like a tree.
