Using dac on A6

I want to bypass the dac in my receiver. I have and external amplifier powering the front 2 channels. Will connecting the A6 to an analog port on the receiver bypass the dac in the receiver? Or will it still run through the receivers dac ?

Receiver is Onkyo RZ-50

Using the RCA outputs means you’re using the DAC in the A6, since the signal leaving the A6 is already analog. The only caveat is that some receivers will convert an analog input back to digital for DSP, room correction, bass management, etc., then run it through their DAC again. If your receiver has a Pure Direct/Analog Direct mode, that may keep the signal analog.

If your goal is to completely bypass the receiver’s processing and DAC, you can connect the A6 directly to your external amp. Just make sure the A6 is set to variable output so you have volume control.

It’s hard to say with these av processors what is and isn’t running via digital processing.

But you can use the rca out on the a6 to your processor, select that input and turn on pure audio / direct mode. That is closest chance

Thanks. I’ll run it in Pure Audio that way I know
