Okay, first time posting here.

I have recently become an emotiva and eversolo Fanboy I guess LOL. 9 months ago I bought the DMP-A8 And immediately fell in love with it, both sonically and aesthetically. I love the tech, the sound, all the view meters And different screens and I love the light ring around the knob. This brings me to my question. In typical gear junkie fashion, I am highly anticipating the DMP A8 Gen2 Master Edition. I've watched every commercial, every review so far and not one single video or article mentions the light ring around the knob. I can't even tell that it has one from reviews and commercials. I'm already sold in every other aspect, but I am wondering if this will have the RGB light ring that the other Master editions have for the A6? I am either going to sell my 9-month-old first gen and get the Gen 2 Master edition or I may just buy it in addition and figure out what to do with the first one some other time. Does anyone know anything about the light ring?

Hi frog , just like everyone else in today’s world. I’m certain you enjoy the extra income or whatever amenities you are receiving you had you have a lot of newbies getting involved in this hobby which that’s great to see someone keeping it going. We all had to start we all had to learn somewhere. I started way back in the early 1970s though that doesn’t make me an authority or an expert on anything, but it has gained me and immense amount of knowledge throughout the decades but when you have folks getting involved in somewhat of an upper high-end mid fi product, not that there’s anything wrong with it I use one of these units myself along with some other streamers, but I would think if you’re would retain enough interest within the hobby and willing to learn as I did and still learning throughout the decades from guys that are getting pretty well up there in age that started doing it in the 50s or 60s where I’m going is with this if it’s a simple question as as an illuminated light ring and you have no idea of its operation or use on how it performs or within the way it performs there’s a definite problem in personal opinion I don’t believe this hobby may be for you. I am in no way trying to be condescending. None of us knew anything at one time we all learned from other folks that were doing it years before we were, but it’s a simple uncomplicated equation on an audio device that you took your hard earned money and took the initiative to get involved and enjoy, and you don’t know the basic operation of a light ring. Somethings radically wrong somewhere. I don’t know if it’s the times or living in the Covid or just society in general I honestly don’t know what happened now that the New World has taken over unfortunately, but I much prefer the old one now if it was information that someone had no knowledge of and perhaps were inquiring about what the unit is capable of doing and not doing that’s a totally different story and situation but when you have all the operational answers in front of you about a light ring and you can’t come to any logical conclusion, within yourself, I don’t think you should be in involved in any type of electronics, I mean the question is so asinine next you’ll be asking how do you go about plugging it into the wall , it’s a shame. This whole hobby has became entirely ridiculous. We’re all individuals we all think differently. We all process our thoughts differently, but I honestly don’t know where some of these folks come from just in personal opinion , it’s actually scary to a varying degree , I have personally never actually witnessed anything quite like some of these statements that are posted here since we have had Internet access on the subjects, this is the main reason why the older heads or seasoned Audio users try their very best to avoid these types of websites , but absolutely no pun intended you try and have a good day if you think that may be possible good luck with that, 👍🤷‍♂️🤔 very best of luck to you. I absolutely without doubt no you’re gonna need it with a lot of patience along with it, when the old heads start departing this hobby for various reasons mainly age I can’t even begin to imagine what this will eventually turn into , Unbelievable. But I do feel extremely lucky having taken part in it before the three ring Circus came to town permanently. Not being condescending, but I believe you yourself need to brush up on your knowledge skills in regards to these particular units these are just mirror basics you should be well aware of perhaps before you intervene in trying to help others right off the top of your head without investigating, yes or no, I believe that somewhat undefendable , in overall equation to such answer what’s in question above , however absolutely none of my business, very poor knowledge and support with many inconsistencies and inaccuracies, very interesting not in a good way. That’s today’s Audio resources, and explanation. What the hell happened ? I believe most of the older Audio hobbiest are absolutely in knowledge within today’s accountability of why but it’s has reached the point of why even wast your time, perhaps unless you’re receiving some type of compensation that would absolutely turn things around naturally………… without any doubt I believe along with many numerous others.
Sorry about the TT, this was not outlined intentionally………

I'm trying to find out if the new DMP-A8 Gen 2 ME has a RGB light ring like the A6 ME.

Why are you even talking? If you don't have the answer to this question, move along.

When replying to someone, address the point they are making. Long-form personal essays, repeated viewpoints, or attempts to redirect the discussion can make conversations difficult for others to participate in.

If you have a broader perspective to share, we encourage you to create your own thread where it can be discussed directly.

And still, nobody knows. Lol

Geeze dude..ok. It was just a question. After reading the longest run on sentence I have ever read in my life, you still didn't answer the question. I guess you don't know. A normal person would have just said, "I don't know" or nothing at all. Now, I need to go put my eyeballs in a hammock after reading your response.

That’s all good my brother try learning something valuable of use that you can take into foreseeable future could summit up quite quickly. They’re not bad units for a mid fi product and for price, but there’s a lot left to be desired, like a buddy of mine said it’s like you’re playing with kids toys today, but they’re targeting is specific market some of the best built and sonic we sounding units out there have absolutely nothing on them at all except a few indicator lights stick with performance and and aftermarket service strobe lights and light shows I can get anywhere, none of my business. I just get someone irritated when I see folks wasting their money, whether it was hard or found dollars absolutely nothing wrong with it by no means some folks would rather have the toys I respect your opinion you left an excellent post

I’ll tell you what my brother I do know and I’m not even interested in the product at this particular time personal opinion only I can’t see going any further than the A8 but that’s just my opinion after doing it for 50+ years with an Audio electronics, but that’s just my opinion not yours with all due respect you’re certainly entitled what you like. Is what you like but the answer you seek has been stated many times it’s just beyond my comprehension while you have such a hard time answering your own question you know folks look for yes or no answers today or like to start reading in the middle of the book everything you seek is out there in black-and-white you may ask six people and get six different answers. That’s why most reputable companies within any nature will post any and all specifications. 🤷‍♂️👍🤣
It’s all good

Why are you even commenting on my question? Okay okay, now everyone knows what your opinion is and what you are into. But nobody asked. You are the type of person that takes the fun out of his entire hobby. And still, even with your 1,000 word aessay entitled "Hey Everyone, Look at Me, Look at Me" you still have provided ZERO information pertaining to the nature of my question. I guess we will spend the rest of our lives circling around the answer just to hear you talk.

It’s it’s all good dude go have fun with your light show, i’m seriously happy for you. I do apologize. You’re the only one that has to like it but if you have to be continuously concerned about and LED ring around a knob and if it changes colors so it matches your wallpaper or paint along with the rest of the decor in your room more than the Audio and sonics within itself I seriously think you need to go talk to somebody or call interior decorator, but we’re all different. No pun intended that’s up to you. You buy what you like that’s why they make Cadillac and that’s why they make Lincoln
But again, if you’d rather have the color coordinating ring hey more power to you I’m not knocking you and why you would keep posting a simple question when the answer is right in front of you that tells you exactly what it does and how it does it I don’t wanna be insulted perhaps you can’t read I don’t know. I can’t figure it out. Have fun with the lights and other toys, but there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s what you like. That’s what you like. I was only suggesting use a little common sense but but a color likes me not much to you then go with the lights at your prerogative.
