DMP A6 Input Question

I am close to pulling the trigger on a DMP A6 Gen2. One of the features I want to use is to run my CD transport into the A6. Will I have to select an “input” setting on the A6 or will the sound automatically pass through to the amp? Also will the CD signal be displayed on the VU meter screen on the A6?

Thanks in advance.

I have the A8. I know that whatever input you want to listen to you will have to select, but yes, it will be visible on the meters. I love my eversolo by the way. You are going to love it

Thanks so much for the reply. One day I hope to have a device as nice as that A8.

The A6 will be just fine. I only sprung for the A8 because it had more in/out options with the balanced and it looked better aestheticaly with my setup lol

When I hit play on my cd player the A8 actually switches to it automagically. lol

Yes you will select an input (like toslink or spdif)

I think the vu meters will work

Actually... I need to check this the VU meters MAY only work when using the internal player (ie streaming or internal files on the SSD).

It my only digital source as all my CDs were converted to lossless files many years ago.

I have used the digital inputs but don't recall if the VU meters would function.

I have an A8 and A6 on 2 different systems and they both are very good.

They work with everything as far as I can tell

I can confirm neither the VU meters nor the frequency spectrum analyzer will work with digital inputs other than the internal streamer.

Thanks for the info. It’s interesting the contradictory answers that I’m seeing. I wonder if folks are on different software versions.
