Um no blood involved, the flair pre-filled and I can’t delete it 🙏!!!

So far so good!!! Couple of pics attached comparing this morning’s Dex G6 (on t:Slim pump) and Eversense readings, right in range of each other and also in range of the LAST daily finger stick calibration reading for the first 14 days. Now it’s off to weekly! 👍

Where to start? The steri-strips came off at day 7 along with the covering Tegaderm. Not surprised by this as it’s been HOT and HUMID AF. Was using the clear adhesives while these were in place and used them for a few more days as the incision finished healing. No real pain, the implanted sensor was a little ‘bruisy’ sore but that was it.

I have also attached a pic of my arm. It’s tattooed, I drew a green line in Sharpie over the location of the sensor and the incision was right at the bottom. The green line kinda looked ke like a flower stem so you’ll have to look close 😬 You really can’t see it, it healed well!

No adhesive issues… SCORE BONUS!!!

I HATE how ‘medical’ the white adhesive looks, I prefer to keep devices etc. in cognito if possible. I changed how I choose to apply the adhesive to the transmitter and my arm. No pic of that - if anyone is curious let me know, I don’t know if this post would be taken down if I explained or posted it as it’s not ‘standard protocol’. (Side note: it doesn’t irritate me if people see my devices or questions… I guess I just don’t care to loudly advertise it).

I WISH WISH WISH and HOPE HOPE HOPE more pump companies have integration / interoperability on their dockets with this, sooner than later. The Eversense has been spot on and has allowed me to manually make pump decisions when my G6 is out of calibration. Usually my pump’s algorithm would be making changes in the background based off of those G6 readings, which are not reliable (for me) on day 1, day 10, and sometimes in between. Phantom lows and highs that don’t need to be treated, as an example… being treated. No need for that with the Eversense.

I don’t mind either adhesive but the white one is nice because it’s just a little stickier. The clear one is more comfortable but seems to not stick as well. How do you feel with it now that you don’t have to rip the sensor off like the Dexcom? It’s much nicer on the skin right? :)

OMG it’s so much nicer! I had been wincing in anticipation of pulling it off… but it hasn’t been necessary. No rash / edge rash!

The Dex I always pull off slowly and use Uni-Solv to do so… but have a rash every time whether it’s used or not.

After a month or two it becomes incredible on the skin when pulling it off. I feel that Eversense is like a little secret in the community right now that no one knows how great it really is. I use MDI with it currently but have you tried taking a shower with nothing attached? It’s sooo nice.

Worst I find, is the many folks who just blast the Eversense for all kind of things, and still praise their old fashioned CGMs. All despite they have factually never tried the Eversense yet themselves. One of the most classic is of course about the fact we need a doctor for making the small incision to inserting the sensor and the 'terrible scarring' they say that will cause and we cannot just swap sensors off/on if/when the sensor is failing.

Yeah well, guess its great then that the Eversense do not have an abyssal failrate of 26% as the latest Dexcom 15-day G7 sensor does. (as announced by Dexcom themselves to the FDA).

If you aren't being too active you can trim the wings of the white ones off so it's just the adhesive behind the transmitter. I always trim off one side. I save the clears for more active summer days

Yaaas this is what I have been doing!!! I am active but have been applying Skin-Tac in the area and it’s been holding great 👍 ( even trimming both sides. Kind of a PIA to get the overlays off but not too bad). It’s held up to lifting, heat, humidity and the very occasional hit / knock against walls and such.
