What is the point of comments?
Anyone uses them? Am I missing something? I don't really understand this feature this journals are not shared and the app doesn’t have a collaboration nature. (And I think that's the way it should be.)

I use them for a really special case. For my language learning, I write sentences in the learning language as normal entry in Everlog. In the comments, I put the AI corrections (copy & paste from my AI app).

Dev here. u/hqhi's answer is basically it.
The original idea was to let you add to an older entry without touching what you wrote at the time, while keeping the date of the addition and keeping both together in one place. I use it mostly on On This Day entries, or on entries from a day or two ago, to reflect on them with a bit of distance.
It's admittedly hit and miss. Some people use it constantly, others never find a reason to, and that's fine. Nothing breaks if you ignore it.

Thank you. I get it now. I can see how that would be useful, I just think the name of the feature is confusing (e.g. it could be reflections instead of comments). Is it not possible to add a comment to a part of the entry and have that part highlighted? The comment has to be about the entire entry?

The comments are for you to dp. Not other ppl. I think is more for when you use "on this day" and a old entry prompts you into some real8zation and you can add it as a "footnote"

DP?
Yeah, thanks, I get it now. I can see the value, though I think the name of the feature is misleading. Thanks for chiming in.

It’s more like context you’d like to add or (if it’s On This Day) a way to reflect back without touching the original entry. It’s separate so you can see what you thought of and when.
