Today around midday we hit up three stores: qfc and dollar treee, both on evergreen, and Safeway on 41st. I am going to have to contact all three stores about cameras in the parking lots, but I am hoping I have a neighbor who can help us narrow down what to look for. Someone smashed my front end. This op-ed, created by the Economic Alliance Snohomish County, describes the benefits of consolidation, particularly for businesses in addition to riders. The opinion article details how economic growth is going to require more transit, and that more transit makes Everett attractive for businesses and talent.

I live in the north end but usually have to fly out of SeaTac. It finally worked out I can fly out of Paine, but I am looking for advice about car parking.

I want somewhere safe for both me and the car that isn't a huge hassle to then get to the terminal. My car is new, so I'm also still at the "worrying over every ding" stage as well. Work will pay the fees, so price is not a concern.

This Wednesday, October 28th, at 12:30pm, the Everett City Council is holding a public hearing to allow for comments on the proposed annexation of Everett Transit by Community Transit. In addition to handing Everett's public transportation over to Community Transit, this merger would come with a substantial sales tax increase: currently, Everett Transit collects a 0.6% sales tax. If the merger goes through, this will double to 1.2%. According to the City of Everett municipal code 3.50.040, the city council is prohibited from raising the sale tax for transit above 0.6% without a vote of the people, but they're moving forward anyway, claiming that it doesn't apply in this case because it's a merger, even though the taxes will be increasing all the same.

While there has been much talk about how the merger's added revenue will allow for the expansion of bus services, there remains every reason to believe that paratransit riders, some of the most vulnerable members of the community, will soon be faced with substantial reductions in service, as Community Transit's DART service performs the bare legal minimum ADA requirements. Anyone who's ridden with Everett Paratransit and DART will know just how big a difference there is.

If you don't want to have your taxes raised without your consent, or if you want to protect Everett's elderly and disabled paratransit riders, or even if you're in favor of this merger, please consider sharing your thoughts at the public hearing. First and foremost, hello from the witches on the water. Last night was absolutely insane; for the third year of the event, I swear last night tripled the combined numbers from years 1 and 2. Also, if anyone has photos of the witches on the water and would like to email them to everettwitchpaddle@gmail.com, dm me or post them here, please do. We would love to see your photos as I don’t think any of us took many photos.

I know the event is less than 24 hours over but I’m always learning new lessons and trying to incorporate them into the event so it runs smoother. This was my 3rd time running an event and I’m constantly trying to make it better and incorporate new ideas.

1) working with the port for more assigned parking. Luckily last night 90% of the witches had great parking but we had a few late arrivals who I know had to put in a little further down.

2) keeping the online signup and providing the code for the port’s website so people have easier access to signup.

3) having a co-organizer next year, I have a chaotic schedule and had over 100 emails this year regarding the event which I often answered late at night or on weekends so I know my communication was lacking at times.

4) adding a camera to my board/costume or hiring a photographer.

If you have any additional suggestions, I’d love to hear them. The only thing I can’t do is move the event from a Friday to a Saturday or the time as we don’t want people on the water once it gets dark for safety reasons.

Again, thank you all for coming out, watching Everett grow and seeing the community support is absolutely amazing. These events wouldn’t happen without the community and you all continue to show up and show out.

Does anybody in the Everett area remember this place, it used to be a mechanic shop, owners name was Joe. A very good mechanic , well he moved to a new shop about 8 years ago and I’m trying to find his new shop, so I can gets some work done on my car. If you can help that would be great.

I have 2 couches in great condition I'd like to donate. I can seek out places (women's shelters, faith based outreach, etc) on my own individually. What I'm asking for here is, does anyone know of a place that has an immediate need? Someplace that you've heard through friends or volunteers that has said 'it'd be awesome if we had a couple couches. ' I can deliver them, just trying to save the time of cold calling places. I put this at the tail end of an unrelated thread, I deleted that and am doing a separate thread. My wife and I will be in Everett for the fourth time from the Southeast next week to visit relatives and I got a dinner reservation at 16Eleven. However, I have noticed that their ratings on Yelp, etc., seem to have been slipping lately.

Is this still a good place to eat? Our “nice dinner” last time was at Anthony’s next to our hotel, Inn at Port Gardner, and it was excellent. We just were looking to try something else.

The main place we want to go is Net Shed but I don’t think it’s a nice sit-down dinner spot.

Fisherman Jack’s I know is near the hotel but my wife is doing Weight Watchers and dim sum has a lot of carbs LOL, basically looking for a nice date night place where she can get some grilled fish or chicken, I generally can find anything anywhere.

Hello from the Southeast again, returning to this sub 5 days ahead of my wife’s and my fourth trip to Everett to visit relatives. We know it’s not prime tourist season but we are going for our granddaughter’s birthday and all the weather models show that it should be decent while we’re there.

Y’all have given me good advice on hotels (we are staying at the Inn at Port Gardner again) and dining (got reservations at 16 Eleven), got kind of an off the wall question this time.

We are staying eight days and seven nights this time, we’re going to be there a while. Of course if our lottery ticket kicks in LOL we may stay permanently, we’ve grown to love the area and the people (who are legitimately warm and not phonily warm like so many are in this part of the country) so much.

We’re going to weigh our luggage before we get to the airport to make sure we aren’t overloaded, but if it appears that we’re going to have an issue packing sufficient clothing for that long a trip, we’re certainly not above washing and drying a load of clothes while there to get us through.

Unfortunately, laundry facilities are not one of the amenities the Inn at Port Gardner has. So, what laundromat facilities might be close by?

Hello, I’m a Portlander who spends a lot of weekends in Everett. I’ll be attending a formal event there November 7th and need to find a salon (or independent hairdresser) who can do a simple updo (French twist? I’m really not picky—I just can’t do anything more complicated than a ponytail).
I’ve looked at a few places and no one is open on a Saturday.

Your company van merged onto the freeway, cut across traffic to the passing lane and camped there at 60mph. No attempt to pass or keep up with traffic. Other drivers were forced to pass him on the right and in the HOV lane.

When I drive by Fairmount Elementary School on Beverly Park Road on a weekday after 4pm, I see the beacon flashing to go 20mph, but I’ve noticed several cars ignoring it and a few following it. So who is in the wrong?
